On one hand, a $35 million water park has officially been announced for Sherman, set to anchor Bel Air Village and potentially open by summer 2027 — a huge sign of the growth coming our way. On the other hand, an arctic winter storm is moving in faster than expected, with freezing rain, sleet, snow, and dangerously cold temperatures arriving over the next 48 hours. As always, your safety comes first. Please take this storm seriously, prepare now, and stay warm — and once we’re through it, we’ll have plenty of exciting Sherman news to look forward to. ❤️❄️

First Look: Sherman’s $35M Water Park Plans Revealed
A $35 MILLION water park is officially coming to Sherman — and it’s going to be a game-changer.
Developers just announced an 11-acre water park planned as the main anchor for Bel Air Village on the south side of town. What was once planned as a lagoon is now being reimagined into a full-scale destination with wave pools, lazy rivers, and major water slides.
Even bigger? The park is being designed by the same company behind Disney and SeaWorld water attractions.
📆 If all goes according to plan, Sherman could be splashing by summer 2027.
This is another huge sign of the growth happening in Sherman, Texas — and why so many people are paying attention to what’s coming next.
Dangerous Cold Arrives: Plan for a Winter Weekend Inside
❄️ Things To Do Inside While the Storm Is Here
When the weather outside turns icy and travel isn’t worth the risk, it’s the perfect excuse to slow down and lean into a cozy, inside weekend. Start simple: pull out board games or cards you haven’t touched in years, light a candle, and make it a family game night. No rules, no phones—just laughs and snacks.
This is also prime movie or binge-watch weather. Pick a comfort classic, start a new series, or let everyone choose one favorite. Add blankets, popcorn, and you’ve got an instant winter tradition. If screens aren’t your thing, grab a book you’ve been meaning to finish or tackle that puzzle that’s been sitting in the closet.
Feeling productive? Do a little storm-safe reset around the house—organize a drawer, plan meals for next week, or prep a slow cooker recipe that fills the house with warmth. Baking cookies or soup is a great way to stay busy and cozy.
Most importantly, use this time to rest. Storms force us to pause—and that’s not a bad thing. Stay inside, stay warm, check on neighbors if you can safely, and we’ll all be back out enjoying Sherman before you know it. ❤️❄️

Choosing a local coffee shop, café, or dinner spot helps keep employees working and dollars circulating right here in Sherman. Even something simple—takeout, breakfast, or a quick lunch—can make a real impact. It’s a small way to support the people who make our community feel like home and help Sherman bounce back after a long weekend inside. ❤️
