Sherman’s Parks Are Getting Better — Here’s What’s Planned

Big changes are coming to Sherman TX parks, and this is exactly the kind of growth that makes our community stronger. 🌳🎾

Sherman Parks and Recreation is rolling out major upgrades designed to make our outdoor spaces more fun, inclusive, and family-friendly. We’re talking about:

✔️ A new mini-soccer pitch at Hawn Park
✔️ Pickleball courts at Old Settlers Park
✔️ Fairview Park improvements with added parking, restrooms, and relaxed green spaces
✔️ Resurfaced tennis courts
✔️ ADA-accessible restroom upgrades at the Senior Center

These projects are already halfway through the design phase, which means real progress is happening behind the scenes. This isn’t just about new courts and fields — it’s about creating places where families gather, kids grow up playing sports, and neighbors build real connections right here in Sherman, Texas.

As someone who’s lived in Sherman for over 20 years, I love seeing the city invest in quality-of-life projects that make living here even better. Growth is coming — but it’s thoughtful growth.
